The Garuda (18"X 18")

One of the Four Auspicious Animals of Tibetan Buddhism, the Garuda (khyung) abides in the northern direction. It symbolizes the primordial nature which is completely perfect from beginninglessness. It is born full grown and in full flight.It is associated with the windhorse  (Lung-ta)where it symbolizes the fire element — and freedom from hope and fear.   The Garuda is daring, fearless and somewhat outrageous. . Possessing great strength and power it soars beyond the beyond - no holding back. It symbolizes freedom from hopes and fears, the vast mind without reference point.
